Itinerary idea in detail

Includes international flights from a choice of UK airports, including London, Birmingham, Manchester, Newcastle, Edinburgh and Glasgow.

  • Today you begin your journey by boarding your international outbound flight to Marrakesh. Upon arrival at Marrakesh Airport, you'll be met by a private car and transferred to your hotel. A fast-track service is included at Marrakesh Airport to avoid any long queues on your arrival. The short drive passes the main train station, through the modern city, and into the heart of the ancient medina, where your riad hides in the maze of souqs. On arrival, you'll be greeted with a mint tea. The evening will be at your leisure to relax in your new surroundings at La Sultana Marrakesh.

  • Today, your private guide leads you around the city, teaching you about its history and culture. You visit the beautifully mosaicked Saadian Tombs, where the bodies of sultans and their families have rested for centuries, the Bahia Palace and the 15th-century Mellah (Jewish Quarter). This afternoon, your guide takes you into the different quarters of the souq to see craftspeople working on their various trades. It provides valuable insight into the skilled work that goes into making the products you barter for in the souqs.

  • Today you head to La Maison Arabe, one of the first restaurants to open to foreigners in the medina, for a shared cooking class and a chance to try your hand at making traditional Moroccan food. You will use locally sourced ingredients and be led by an expert dada (traditional Moroccan cook) who will demonstrate and teach you how to make an appetiser and main course which you will then devour afterwards. This evening, you will get a completely different view of the city when you head up in a hot air balloon. The ride takes you across the city and up to the dramatic landscapes north of Marrakesh, a spectacular way to watch the sunset.

  • Today, your private driver will take you up into the Atlas Mountains, where you'll spend the day in a local Amazigh village with a guide. There, you'll share lunch and a mint tea with an Amazigh family and spend time learning about their way of life. We recommend visiting the Assafou Foundation, which provides free education for children living in these rural communities. Here you can see the school where the children are taught and where local women learn skills such as weaving so that they can sell their handicrafts at local markets or in Marrakesh's souqs.

  • After breakfast, your private driver will collect you and take you to Marrakesh Airport for your onward flight. Fast track assistance will be included on departure, allowing you to skip the often lengthy queues at Marrakesh Airport. Your return flight will arrive the same day.
