Itinerary idea in detail

Includes international flights from a choice of UK airports, including London, Birmingham, Manchester, Newcastle, Edinburgh and Glasgow.

  • Today you begin your journey by boarding your international outbound flight to Kuala Lumpur.

  • You're met at the airport by an Audley representative this morning who will take you to your private car for the two-hour transfer to Malacca. Depending on your flight time, you might like to take a walk from your hotel this afternoon. Located in the Old Town, it's surrounded by antique shops and cafés.

  • Enjoy the day exploring the UNESCO city of Malacca. You are staying in the heart of the old city so it's easy to explore independently on foot — ideas for your time with a guide to the main sights will be provided before you travel. If you would like a private guide, this can be arranged instead.

  • Enjoy a further day taking in the museums, shops, and riverside cafés of Malacca. If you are visiting on a weekend, head to the night market in the evening for a chance to try a plethora of local delicacies, as well as enjoy a lively local atmosphere.

  • This morning, you're collected from the hotel by private transfer and taken to Kuala Lumpur — a journey of around two hours, depending on the traffic. On arrival in the city, you might like to walk along Jalan Alor, near your hotel, which is lined with busy street hawkers, selling a range of local street food.

  • Take a private walking tour of Kuala Lumpur today with a local guide. You will explore some of the lesser-known areas of Kuala Lumpur, from colonial architecture to Chinese markets, mosques and temples.

  • Today is free for you to explore Kuala Lumpur independently. You might like to venture up the famous Twin Towers for spectacular views over the city. Chinatown is also a good place to explore — dip into a few of the local temples to escape the chaos of the city.

  • This morning you're collected at the hotel and taken to the Cameron Highlands by private driver. The scenic four-hour journey sees you climbing into the cooler temperatures of the highlands. Once you've reached your hotel you may like to have a walk around the area and see why this is known as one of Malaysia's most beautiful areas.

  • Enjoy a full day exploring the Cameron Highlands with your private guide today. This is where all the tea is grown in Malaysia and the area is famous for its scenery and is a popular weekend destination for KL residents. Your tour will take you to the plantations and give you an opportunity to sample local tea.

  • Drive to Penang this morning, a journey of three to four hours, with your private driver. On reaching Butterworth, drive over the Penang Bridge, the longest bridge in Southeast Asia. On arrival in Penang, check in to your hotel and, if time allows, take a walk from your hotel. Built on one of the oldest streets in the city, your hotel is surrounded by fascinating architecture.

  • Take a private guided walking tour of George Town today, seeing the history and heritage of this UNESCO city. Temples, markets and stunning architecture are all concentrated in a small area making it great for a walking tour. This afternoon, you might like to hunt through some of the local quirky shops for souvenirs or try street food delicacies at one of the surrounding street stalls.

  • Enjoy the day exploring at your own pace. For views right across the city, you might like to visit Penang Hill. Reached by a funicular railway, the journey up has some amazing views of the town as well.

  • A final day in Penang, with a last chance to enjoy some superb food before your driver picks you up for a private transfer to Penang Airport for your onward flight.

  • Arrive home today to complete your journey.
