Cartagena Half Day Tour of the Walled City

Buildings in Cartagena

This leisurely half-day tour on foot of Cartagena’s idyllic old colonial town works wonderfully as a small history lesson combined with some stunning architecture and a stop-off for a refreshing juice to keep you going in the coastal Caribbean heat.

The official entrance to the town is through Puerta del Reloj (Clock Portal), which comes out onto Plaza de los Coches (Carriages Square). From there you will walk to Plaza de Aduana, Parque de Bolivar, and Museo del Oro (air-conditioned and so a good place to cool down!)

You will also visit the newly restored Santo Domingo Church, in front of Plaza Santo Domingo. The square was recently decorated with the sculpture Mujer Reclinada ("Reclining Woman"), a gift from the renowned Colombian artist Fernando Botero.
